Indoor Flying
 

Wealden Flyers host indoor flying sessions at Beacon School in their large Sports Hall. Beacon School is located in Crowborough, East Sussex. The Indoor Flying season runs until the end of March. Come on and try it - above all its a great laugh! See below for our flying dates.

Venue: Beacon Community College Sports Hall - Crowborough

Costs: £5.00 per session

Spectators: Free

 

 

 

 

We have separate helicopter and aeroplanes slots of 8 minutes each during the session. A tip! If you want maximum use of the time then you may want to bring at least 1 plane and 1 heli! Helis are limited to 400 size and Aeroplanes at 1 metre wingspan.

Just a few rules

1. There will be a pegboard (sheet) for 35MHz frequencies which must be used (2.4GHz transmitters) are also permitted

2. Please note no dark soled shoes are allowed in the hall

3. Flying is anti-clockwise

4. No charging of batteries is allowed on the Gym floor batteries must be off the floor

5. BMFA Membership cards / proof of BMFA insurance must be presented at each meeting

6. If you do not have BMFA membership then you will be UNABLE to fly

7. The hall is booked from 2:30 to 4:30, it will be opened by the school just before, once it is open flying can only start on the advice of the Wealden Committee member who is running the session, he’ll  be the guy taking the money! Please Note: No committee member = no flying.

8. Helicopters are to fly / hover  immediately  in front of the pilot. With pilots around the hall it is simply not safe for helicopters to fly across or away towards the back of the hall.
