Flying Sites - Hartfield

The Wealden Model Aircraft Societies flying site is located just outside Hartfield off Edenbridge Road, Butcherfield Lane on Cansiron Farm.

Please note that the flying site is currently closed. It is unlikely that the site will be available in 2010

Directions

Once you are on Butchers Field Lane travel approx 3 miles at the sharp right take the left to Cansiron Farm. Drive all the way through the farm until you get to a bridle way - take the left into the gate and park on the left. Address: Cansiron Farm, Butchers Field Lane, Hartfield, East Sussex.

 

 

 

Site Specific Rules

1. Please fly with your back facing the pits / wood.

2. The shorter runway is to be used for taking off and landing only. When flying please fly parallel with the main (longer) runway.

3. All small children must be supervised by an adult / guardian. All animals are to be kept on a leash.

4. IMPORTANT - No more than 3 IC (internal combustion) aircraft in the Air at any one time. If additional planes or helis are electric then up to 3 IC planes and a non limited amount of electric planes and helis are able to fly at one time.

5. There is no limit to the flying times of electric aircraft due to their low levels of noise - see above for flight times for IC planes.

6. There must be no flying over the wood or pits area.

 

 

The flying site is very local for Crowborough, Uckfield, Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead and Edenbridge residents so get in touch - all local and further afield are welcome!
